Rambling Among Flowers

“The earth laughs in flowers”

–  Ralph Waldo Emerson

Is there a quote more suitable for spring??

Rapidly here in Andalucía, the colour is draining from the hills but before they completely turn crispy brown. I’m remembering spring rambles among the flowers.

Spring was so late to come this year, pushing back the summer heat. It still feels like it isn’t as hot as it should be but the colour disappearing from the hills is a signal that summer is coming but for the moment, the earth’s sprinking of flowers is the spittle coming from it’s mouth of hard lughter.

Their colour

Their shape

Their elegance

Their unsubtly and both blazing presence

Their heads nodding in the breeze

They remind me that I am part of it

Part of it all.
